The Ravenous Reader

Caroline keeps up with new releases in all genres of fiction and loves to recommend books to friends. She wants somewhere to hang out and read (or reread) her latest adventure, as either a destination or a stop to kill time between engagements.

Wants and Needs:

  • Somewhere to read outside of her home

  • Knowledgeable staff

  • A welcoming atmosphere with good lighting and plenty of comfortable seating

  • “Cozy vibes”

Frustrations:

  • Big chain coffee shops often don’t offer seating or are too loud to be comfortable.

  • Most bookstores don’t have any place to sit and test a new book. There’s always the park or library, but if the weather is bad or it’s after 5pm, she’s at a loss of somewhere to go.

The busy bee

Hannah is a career-oriented freelancer. Her planner is full, her macbook is organized, and she gets to inbox zero most days. She always has multiple clients and can do her work from anywhere. Hannah is a people person and prefers to work in a public but focused setting, rather than alone in her apartment.

Frustrations:

  • Hostile attitudes towards multi-hour sits in smaller cafes

  • Stores with scarce table seating, few outlets, and useless wifi

Wants and Needs:

  • A public setting to work from and the occasional meeting spot

  • Table seating, outlets, good wifi.

  • Friendly atmosphere that accepts laptop workers

The Coffee Connoisseur

Ivan appreciates the details in life. He loves the smell of the ocean, the sound of the rain, and the feeling of snow crunching under his feet. He’ll get his coffee to stay in a ceramic mug when he has time, otherwise, he’ll bring his own reusable tumbler. His apartment has not only a color palette but a texture palette, and of course an extensive coffee bar. Ivan’s home set up is impressive, but nothing beats a great cup of locally roasted coffee made fresh by an experienced barista.

Wants and Needs:

  • Knowledgable staff

  • Quality of beans and brew

  • Rotating offerings

Frustrations:

  • One note burnt tasting coffee from big chains

  • Unethically sourced beans

  • Hard to find a seat to sit and enjoy his cup.
